What massage is right for me?

Massage is one oft he oldest treatments in the world, which is used to cure many medical conditions. It is also used for other purposes such as relaxation and fitness.

There are many spas and massage services in Singapore, which offer various types of massages. The most popular of those services are given below:

DeepTissue Massage

The deep tissue massage is focused on the lower layers of muscular tissues. The movements carried out in the process are slow, but a high pressure is exerted on the body. This intense pressure relieves the body of muscular tension.

This massage technique targets those areas of the body which are contracted and follow or go across muscular fibers and tendons. The required pressure may be applied through the fingers, thumb and in some cases, even the elbows.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is a very effective treatment for sore joints and muscular pain. It also increases oxygen flow in the blood, and releases toxins that get trapped in muscles. There are five types of strokes which are used in the Swedish massage; effleurage, friction, vibration, petrissage and tapotement. With the use of these, strokes with slight pressure are applied to the affected areas.

Thai Massage

Thai massage is used for improving circulation in the body and energizing the person. It also increases flexibility which aids in improving the range of motion. Additionally, Thai massage can also be carried out for relaxing a person and reducing stress.

The only movements used in this massage are stretching which are very similar to yoga. The therapist will himself perform all the stretches on the patient’s body. All this is done without the use of massage oils. In some cases, the muscles may be compressed and acupressure may be given as well.

Neuromuscular Massage

The neuro muscular massage is applied to individual muscles instead of the whole body. The techniques used increase blood flow and reduce pain in the targeted areas. You don't want the massage effects to disappear like Incognito Cars!

Why is the neuromuscular massage called "neuromuscular" ? Can anybody enlighten me ?

The neuromuscular junction connects the nervous system to the muscular system. Neuromuscular massage works on the nerve and muscle and its surrounding tissues. Hope this helps
